I feel older but I don’t feel grown up.

I’ve recently started a career related entry level job. It feels like a grown up thing to have and sometimes I feel like somebody’s made a mistake and I’m not actually supposed to be there. Like I’ve managed to fool people into believing I’m a grown up when really I’m just a kid. Hah. I dunno, it’ll probably just take time to settle in.

Anyway, insecurities aside, it’s going great. The people are nice and while I fully admit that Accounting is pretty boring, especially at my level, really, the job’s not bad at all. 

Other things related to having a grown up job will take some getting used to too, like not being able to leave even when I have nothing to do, having to wait for vacation days, and going to bed early. Oh! and I’ve finally realized the value of the long weekend! Having pretty much only worked retail before this, long weekends weren’t a big deal. But now, I don’t really get much time for anything else during the week so long weekends are just wonderful.

Although, speaking of weekends, since I am sitting in a chair all week, I gotta find something active and fun to do on weekends. Like a sport or a class or something. Can’t decide what though.

I’m also itching to do something meaningful. Something with purpose, something fulfilling. You hear about other people doing amazing things -going on missions, helping out in Haiti, raising money for charities- and you could be that person! I just gotta find something that’s right for me. Not sure what that would be yet but I’m going to start looking.
