I really like that line. It makes sense but it’s something I rarely remember. I guess if you like people, romantic or platonic, it should translate well in your actions but I don’t think it does all the time. Not for me anyway so I like having this line as a little reminder to do nice things for people I care about.
I think it also applies to people who annoy you. They might be irritating the hell out of you but you put up with them anyway (which, I understand, is more often than not necessary) but if you can help it, why bother wasting so much energy to put up with something so frustrating?
Take the energy you would have wasted dealing with people who frustrate you and spend it on people who make you happy. Life will feel much better. :)
